In 2016, Rick Baker was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer that had metastasized to his liver. The Bakers were encouraged to find treatment options beyond what LHSC could offer, which led them to travel around the world in search of experimental treatments, therapies and molecular profiling.
Rick and his wife Shelley donated $1.5M to support the advancement of pancreatic cancer care and research in the London region through the creation of the Baker Centre for Pancreatic Cancer.
To learn more about Rick’s story or to donate to the Baker Centre for Pancreatic Cancer please visit the London Health Sciences Foundation page.
Because of Rick and Shelley’s generous donation, patients are able to receive elevated, fast-tracked and a more specialized level of care with access to new treatment options right here in London.
