LHSC has a proud tradition of caring for those in our community both inside and outside the hospital walls. One way the staff, physicians, and volunteers demonstrate that is through their generous contributions to LHSC's seasonal food drives (March/April and December) and the Holiday Mitten Campaign (December).
Every holiday season since 2009, LHSC staff have participated in an annual "Mitten Campaign" which collects new or gently used hats, scarves, gloves and mittens to help those less fortunate in our community. Over the years, LHSC's generous staff and physicians have donated more than 9,000 items to help organizations such as The Salvation Army, the Boys & Girls Club of London, Merrymount Family Support & Crisis Centre, Goodwill Industries, Life Spin, and the Unity Project for Relief of Homelessness.
During the seasonal food drives, bins are placed throughout LHSC's hospital sites where staff and visitors can place their non-perishable food donations. Many departments also challenge one another in friendly competitions. The London Food Bank is always in need of donations, and we encourage you to support their efforts year-round.
