A variety of transplant announcements and special events, organized by the Multi-Organ Transplant Program and various community groups, occur throughout the year.

Upcoming Community Events
World Kidney Day Breakfast, Thursday, March 14
Organized by the local chapter of The Kidney Foundation of Canada, this event is part of a global awareness campaign to highlight the importance of kidney health. “Kidney health for everyone, everywhere” will be held at The London Club, 177 Queens Ave. You can find out more about World Kidney Day and this breakfast event in London. Individual and group tickets can be purchased online.
No Kidneying Around, Thursday, March 28
This 7th annual event will be raising funds to support the Multi-Organ Transplant Unit at University Hospital. Held at St. Anne’s Centre in St. Thomas, the event includes live music, an auction, shopping and door prizes as well as a meal.
Location: St. Anne’s Centre, 20 Morrison Drive, St. Thomas
Doors open: 5:30 pm
Auction: 7:00 pm
Tickets: Admission & auction paddle $10; meal $10

Transplant Trot, Saturday, April 27
Organized by the Canadian Transplant Association, Transplant Trot is an annual event in memory of Leslie Petter. Held in Gibbons Park in London, please mark your calendars.

New Canvas of Life, Tuesday, April 30
This is the Multi-Organ Transplant Program’s only fundraiser. Tickets will be available soon for New Canvas of Life, presented by McKenzie Lake Lawyers. This year’s event will feature an online art auction as well as a concert by JUNO-nominee Royal Wood and his band. For further details, visit the event’s website and subscribe for email updates. If you would like to contribute to the art auction, please review the Call for Submissions – we’re looking for a wide variety of art from recipients, donors, local artists and Canadian celebrities. Proceeds this year will help purchase a FibroScan Liver Monitor machine as well as help support transplant research education.
World Transplant Games, August 17-24, 2019:

Our e-store is a not-for-profit initiative with all proceeds from sales going towards further promotion of organ donation and transplantation. As well as clothing (jackets, t-shirts, ball cap), we have lots of accessories, such as notecards, Christmas tree ornaments, water bottles, mugs, and license plate holder. London Transplant Gift of Life Association: Looking for volunteers
This organization welcomes new volunteers to help spread the word about organ donation. Anyone who is interested in helping is invited to join. The group is also welcoming Western and Fanshawe students to their student chapter. High school students can gain volunteer hours by taking part in events.
