December 19, 2017
This holiday season, Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is asking Londoners to give a gift that can’t be bought by donating blood.
Throughout December and particularly over the holidays, CBS experiences blood product shortages due to inclement weather and with regular donors traveling or being busy with family gatherings.
Grab a friend or family member, and book an appointment today at blood.ca or by calling 1-888-2-DONATE. Please note the special holiday hours at the permanent clinic at 820 Wharncliffe Road South:
- Tuesday, Dec. 26: 9am-1pm
- Wednesday, Dec. 27: 12pm-8pm
- Thursday, Dec. 28: 3pm-7pm
- Friday, Dec. 29: 9am-1pm
- Saturday, Dec. 30: 9am-1pm
- Tuesday, Jan. 2: 3pm-7pm (resume regular hours)
If you really want to make an impact, consider “adopting” a day or a time period in the clinic to commit to bringing in donors.
With the London Regional Cancer Program and as a regional trauma centre, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is the highest user of blood products in the city and the fifth heaviest user of blood products in Canada. LHSC staff and physicians see first-hand the importance of having a stable blood supply and as a Partners for Life member with CBS, the organization is committed to helping maintain that stable supply for the region.
You have the power to give the gift of life this holiday season – please donate blood today!
