LHSC is pleased to launch its annual Holiday Food Drive & Mitten Campaign to encourage staff, physicians, students and volunteers to donate non-perishable food items and new or gently used hats, mittens, gloves and scarves to help those in need in our community
Through the generosity of staff, LHSC has already contributed nearly 2,000 lbs of food to the London Food Bank in 2014 during the spring and fall food drives.
The Holiday Food Drive and Mitten Campaign launches in late November and runs until Dec. 17. For the sixth year in a row, the Mitten Campaign ensures those less fortunate in our community will be a little warmer during the cold winter months through donations of new or gently used mittens, scarves, gloves and hats which will be donated to the Children’s Aid Society of London & Middlesex. Food and mitten collection boxes are located throughout our hospital sites.
Patients, visitors, and members of the community are also invited to drop off their donations to the collection boxes located at:
- University Hospital - main floor lobby
- Victoria Hospital - outside Faye’s Café (level 3, zone D elevators), zone B atrium (Level 1) and zone E at the Tim Hortons (Level 2)
- South Street Annex – 373 Hill St. entrance lobby
