Pride London Festival runs July 18-28

In an effort to encourage acceptance, inclusion, education, and celebration of the LGBT2Q+ community in London, and to demonstrate that everyone is welcome to work and receive care at London Health Sciences Centre, we are proud to support Pride London.

In support of this year’s Pride London Festival (July 18-28), LHSC refreshed our permanent symbol of our support for the LGBT2Q+ community by repainting rainbow crosswalks at both University and Victoria hospitals, and is proud to be participating in the 2019 Pride Parade.

Staff joined Dr. Paul Woods, President and CEO, at Victoria Hospital, and Cathy Vandersluis, Vice President, Surgical Services, Cardiac Services & Neruosciences, at University Hospital, for a flag raising ceremony on July 18 to mark the start of the festival. LHSC will also light the B atrium rainbow colours, and fly the rainbow Pride flags at both hospital sites for the duration of the festival. A special presentation of Drag Queen Storytime was held for Children’s Hospital patients and staff in the B1 atrium, VH.

Be sure to wave hello to the LHSC group of staff, physicians, students, volunteers, and friends and family walking in the 2019 Pride Parade on July 28. We look forward to seeing you there.

Happy Pride!
