LHSC’s United Way Campaign total builds on core growth of support

February 3, 2015

LHSC staff and physicians succeeded in raising $147,781 for its annual LHSC United Way Campaign, directly helping those in need within our community.

“Our campaign’s theme of ‘Care Beyond Our Walls’ is an increasingly important concept as we continue to strengthen our partnerships at LHSC to enhance and improve care for patients at every point of their care journey, both inside and outside our hospital walls,” says Murray Glendining, LHSC’s President and CEO.

One of the goals for this year’s staff campaign was to increase the number of “perpetual pledge” staff who donate regularly through payroll deduction. This year, the number of payroll donors increased by 16 per cent and these new donors’ contributions represent more than $13,500 of LHSC’s total. This increase will help LHSC to continue building on its legacy of care and ongoing support for the community.

A special thank you to the LHSC United Way Campaign committee and Champions, whose support, enthusiasm, and dedication contributed to the growing awareness of the important work and impact the United Way’s funded agencies carry out in our community. These tireless individuals helped raised more than $20,000 for this year’s campaign by promoting the corporate BINGO game and through a variety of individual fundraisers.

At its core, the United Way London & Middlesex is a social change organization. It supports more than 75 agencies within the region, each of which is creating positive outcomes for those in need.

“Ultimately, this helps to create a healthier community which clearly aligns with our role at LHSC as health care providers and underscores the importance of this partnership,” says Glendining.
