The CNS (clinical neurological Sciences) Movement Disorders Clinic in LHSC’s University Hospital has been designated a National Centre of Excellence by the National Parkinson's Foundation for another five years.
“To continue to hold our designation as a National Parkinson’s Foundation Centre of Excellence validates our research and clinical work,” says Dr. Mandar Jog, director, Movement Disorders Program, LHSC.
Centres of Excellence are recognized by their professional (medical) peers as leaders in Parkinson’s care and each center meets rigorous criteria for research, comprehensive care delivery, professional education and patient outreach services.
“Our clinic engages in fundamental research, expert clinical care, and outreach in Windsor and Thunder Bay,” continues Dr. Jog. “I also regularly provide educational presentations in the community about living with a movement disorder.”
The CNS Movement Disorders Clinic is one of 7 Centres of Excellence in Canada and only one of 43 Centres in the world.
