During your stay, you may be confronted with a decision to which there is no good or 'right' answer. These decisions are sometimes considered 'ethical decisions' because they require us to think about what values are most important and how we make decisions based on values. Clinical Ethicists are trained to assist patients, families, and teams when values-based decision making becomes difficult. If you would like to speak with an Ethicist, or request that an Ethicist be involved in a difficult decision, you can reach the Ethics Office at ethics@lhsc.on.ca or pager 19578.
