Sue Kriening

Susan Kriening

Regional Program Manager

Sue joined SWORBHP in October of 2013 as the Regional Program Manager. Her educational background includes a BScN from Queen's University and a Master's of Health Studies in Leadership from Athabasca University. She is a Greenbelt in Six Sigma, has certification in Lean and maintains her Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification. Sue’s leadership experience at London Health Sciences Centre includes manager roles in the Medicine Program at Victoria Hospital and the Adult and Children's Emergency Departments at Victoria Hospital as well as the University Hospital ED. Prior to this she held a position of as a Clinical Educator at LHSC and Bed Utilization Manager and ED Coordinator in Winnipeg. Her clinical experience is in emergency and critical care nursing. As an LHSC ED Manager Sue was integral in the creation and revision of multiple EMS destination policies for Middlesex London EMS / LHSC, created a streamlined overcapacity protocol for London and has led numerous activities to build relationships between the ED and EMS staff. In 2011 Sue traveled to Tel Aviv, Israel with SWORBHP staff to study their CBRNe and Code Orange programs. In her current role, she also oversees the LHSC Emergency Program CBRNE and Code Orange Planning. Sue is the current Operational Co-Chair of the Ontario Base Hospital Group Medical Advisory Committee.
Dr Matt Davis

Dr. Matthew Davis

Regional Medical Director

Dr. Matthew Davis joined SWORBHP in 2010 as the program's first EMS Medical Fellow. He held the position of Medical Director of Education and Medical Director of Lambton College and Fanshawe College Paramedic Programs from January 2013 – April 2017. Dr. Davis has also been the Local Medical Direction for the Central Services (Elgin, Oneida, Oxford, Middlesex-London). As of April 2017, Dr. Davis transitioned into the role of Regional Medical Director and continues to act as the Local Medical Director for Middlesex London. Dr. Davis graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Nursing Science and a Master of Science in 2002. He graduated from medical school at McMaster University in 2007, and completed his FRCPC Emergency Medicine residency training at Western University in 2012. He is currently an Emergency Physician at London Health Sciences Centre and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Western University. He is actively involved in multiple prehospital research projects and has presented his research at various international conferences. Dr. Davis has published research on topics including prehospital ECG utility, ACR utility for ED management of patients, morbidity and mortality associated with lift assists, and predictors of post-traumatic stress in paramedics. Administrative Assistant

Asha joined the Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital Program in July 2012 as the Administrative Assistant. She provides administrative support to Susan Kriening, Regional Program Manager and Dr. Matthew Davis, Regional Medical Director. Asha holds a diploma in Office Administrative Executive from Fanshawe College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Management Degree from Athabasca University. She is also a Certified Quality Improvement Associate with American Society of Quality. In the past, she worked as the Administrative Assistant for Bradken where she directly supported the Machining/Engineering Manager. She has a passion for hard work and is always striving for excellence.
Paul Bradford

Dr. Paul Bradford

Local Medical Director (South)

Dr. Bradford has worked in the provincial Base Hospital program for 12 years and joined SWORBHP in October 2008 as a Local Medical Director. He is an Emergency Physician and Trauma Team Leader. He is the Medical Director of Emergency Medicine and Assistant Medical Director of Trauma at the Ouellette Site of Windsor Regional Hospital. Dr. Bradford attended medical school at Queen’s University, did his Family Medicine training in Sudbury, and his ER training at UWO; recently completing his Masters from RMC in Military Trauma System design. He is a physician representative on the Ontario Base Hospital Group Executive Committee, and serves on Base Hospital and Trauma program accreditation review teams. He teaches ATLS, ACLS, PHTLS, ITLS, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care. LCol Bradford has a military background with over twenty four years of service, 2 tours of duty, and was the Commanding Officer of 23 Field Ambulance for 5 years. He has certification in Aeromedical Transport, and Aviation Medicine. He has served on the Federal Disaster Assistance Response team, and deployed to the Winnipeg flood, the Eastern Canada Ice Storm. He has training in CBRN and disaster planning and helped draft the auxiliary provincial medical directives and assists with the local Hazmat/CBRNE Provincial Response Team.
Don Eby

Local Medical Director (North)

Dr. Eby joined SWORBHP in October 2008 as a Local Medical Director. He is responsible for providing oversight to Grey, Bruce, Huron and Perth Paramedic Services.He received his MD from the University of Toronto, an MSc in International Primary Health Care from the University of London, UK and a PhD in primary care from Queen Mary, University of London. He is currently an Emergency Physician at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound and an Adjunct Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. He is a former Chair of the Provincial Base Hospital MAC.
Sean Doran

Local Medical Director (Central)

Dr. Doran recently joined SWORBHP in 2017 as the Local Medical Director for Oxford County, Medavie EMS Elgin Ontario and Oneida Nation of the Thames Paramedic Services. Dr. Doran is also the Medical Director to Fanshawe and Lambton Paramedic Programs. Dr. Doran completed a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Western Ontario. He received his Medical Doctorate Degree from Western University. In addition to this he obtained a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Psychology at Carleton University. Dr. Doran is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Western University and an Emergency Physician at London Health Sciences Centre.
Lauren Leggatt

Dr. Lauren (Leggatt) Valdis

Medical Director of Education

Dr. Leggatt recently joined SWORBHP as the Medical Director of Education in April 2018. She completed her EMS fellowship training from 2015-2016 with the SWORBHP team. During which she had a special interest in training and education initiatives. Dr. Leggatt completed her Royal College Emergency Medicine residency at Western University, graduating in 2017. Prior to this, she completed her medical training at the Windsor campus of the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western and holds an undergraduate degree in Physiology and Health Sciences from Western University. Dr. Leggatt is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Western University and an Emergency Physician at London Health Sciences Centre. She regularly participates in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching through the medical school. As of the summer of 2018, Dr. Leggatt will be practicing at Windsor Regional Hospital and continuing with undergraduate and postgraduate medical education at the Windsor Campus of the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Education Coordinator

Lyndsey joined SWORBHP in April 2018 as the Coordinator for Education. Prior to joining SWORBHP, Lyndsey held a senior leadership role in the Operation Control Centre (OCC) at Ornge. She joined Ornge in 2006 and during that time, she held various training, education and leadership roles. Her last 4 years were spent leading the development, implementation and support for Quality Improvement and Education initiatives within the OCC. This included the development of an audit tool and data quality guided curriculum development. Lyndsey was an active member on many working groups internally and provincially including Ornge Base Hospital & MAC, Trillium Gift of Life and the Ministry of Health. Lyndsey completed the Primary Care Paramedic Program at Cambrian College in 2006. She is currently working on her certification with the National EMS Certification Board as well as her undergraduate degree in Health Management.

Coordinator of Quality Assurance & Business Functions

Deb joined SWORBHP in February 2016 as the Coordinator for Quality Assurance and Business Functions. Prior to joining SWORBHP, Debbie was a Business Analyst and Team Leader for thr Web Development Team in Information Technology Services at St.Joseph's Health Care and London Health Sciences Centre for over 28 years. She was instrumental in leading her team through the planning, development, implementation and on-going support of all web development for London's hospitals and our regional partners. Deb holds a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies with a specialization in Finance and Administration from the University of Western Ontario, a diploma in Computer Programming from Fanshawe College and several technical certifications. She is currently working on acquiring Project Management Professional certification.

Julie Oliveira

Planning Support Specialist

Julie first joined the Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital Program in December 2014 as the part-time Program Secretary. In 2016, Julie worked as the interim Web and eLearning Design Developer and has now adopted the role as Planning & Support Specialist for SWORBHP. In the past, she assisted in the launch and education of Patient Flow Management Solutions for London Health Sciences Centre. Julie has also worked in the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department and Patient Access at LHSC.

Michelle Priebe

Application Support Analyst

Michelle first joined the Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital Program in December 2009 as the Certification Associate. From October 2013-July 2019, she was the Web and eLearning Design Developer and in August 2019, she transitioned into the new role of Application Support Analyst. She is the System Administrator for both IQEMS and Paramedic Portal of Ontario. She has worked for London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) since 2008 in different departments such as Quality & Patient Safety, Talent Strategy & Development and Health Records. Prior to LHSC, she worked for Grey Bruce Health Services as the Departmental Secretary in the Health Records.

Team Assistant, Professional Standards

Brenda joined SWORBHP in October 2008 as a Customer Support Receptionist and is now the Team Assistant for Quality Assurance.She provides administrative support to the Coordinator of Quality Assurance & Business Functions, Auditors and the Pre-hospital Care Specialists. In addition, she is also responsible for front desk reception, and the audit processes. Brenda’s role within the program has expanded significantly over the past several years to include process management and audit science. In the past, she was responsible for all Data Entry with the former London Base Hospital Program.

Prehospital Care Specialist

Dwayne Cottel joined SWORBHP in November 2008 as a full time Prehospital Care Specialist (PHCS). As a PHCS, Dwayne mainly supports the central region of SWORBHP which includes London, Elgin, Oxford, Oneida and Lambton. He holds Bachelor of Arts from Trinity Bible College and Theological Seminary, a diploma in Ambulance and Emergency Care from St. Clair College and Advanced Care Paramedicine from Fanshawe College. Dwayne is a Nationally Certified EMS Educator through the National EMS Educators Certification Board and holds a Nationally Certified Investigator and Inspector certificate through the Council on Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation. He has a Professional Certificate in Adult Education from The University of Western Ontario. He currently works part time as an Advanced Care Paramedic for Lambton County EMS. Dwayne was part of the EMS team that won the 2010 Israel Paramedic Championships.

Pete joined SWORBHP in November 2008 as a part time Prehospital Care Specialist (PHCS). He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Windsor, a diploma in Advanced Care Paramedicine from The Michener Institute as well as Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant Diploma from St. Clair College. Pete has recently attained Nationally Certified EMS Educator status with the National EMS Educators Certification and holds an Advanced Nationally Certified Investigator and Inspector certificate through the Council on Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation. He currently works full time as an Advanced Care Paramedic with Essex Windsor EMS.

Anya joined SWORBHP as a part-time Prehospital Care Specialist in July, 2019. Anya worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of roles, including clinical education, emergency/trauma, and critical care. She brings expertise in training and education as a Clinical Educator for St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Arthur Labatt School of Nursing. She completed Bachelor of Business degree in Ukraine, Bachelor of Science in Nursing at University of Western Ontario and post-graduate certification at Durham College.

Prior to joining SWORBHP Patty worked as a PHCS with the former London Base Hospital Program since 2001. She completed the Primary Care Paramedic Program at Fanshawe College in 2002, and currently works full-time as a PCP with Middlesex-London EMS. Patty holds a Nationally Certified Investigator and Inspector certificate through the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation.  She is also a National Certified EMS Educator.

Melissa joined SWORBHP in August 2017 as a Prehospital Care Specialist (PHCS). Prior to joining SWORBHP Melissa worked as a Clinical Educator for the Northwest Region Base Hospital Program (NWRBHP) since September 2009. During her time with the NWRBHP she led both the Primary Care & Advanced Care portfolios in regards to Education, Quality Assurance and Continuing Quality Improvement. Melissa was an active part of the Provincial Education Sub-Committee and was a Facilitator for the Primary Care Paramedic Program at Confederation College. She completed the Primary Care Paramedic Program at Confederation College in 2004 with her Paramedics Career routed in Northwestern Ontario. Melissa is a Nationally Certified EMS Educator with the National EMS Certification Board, and holds a Nationally Certified Investigations and Inspectors certificate through the Council of Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation. She is currently working on her Bachelors of Integrated Studies with a minor in Adult Educations from the University of New Brunswick.

Micheal Filiault joined SWORBHP in August 2018 as a Prehospital Care Specialist (PHCS). He holds diploma in Advanced Care Paramedicine from Fanshawe College, Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant Diploma from St. Clair College, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Heath Sciences Degree from Thompson Rivers University. Micheal comes to us from Essex-Windsor, EMS, as a practicing ACP.  He is also a part time Associate Instructor for the Paramedic Program at St. Clair College in Windsor.

Dean joined SWORBHP in September 2019 as a full time Pre-hospital Care Specialist (PHCS). Prior to joining SWORBHP Dean has cumulative experience as a leader, educator/QA specialist and an Advanced Care Paramedic. Dean previously worked for the Centre for Paramedic Education and Research (CEPR) as the Lead Paramedic Educator and Training and QA Superintendent for Niagara EMS and most recently in Norfolk County as the Deputy Chief. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Business: Emergency Services from Lakeland College and has completed his Advanced Care Paramedic education from Michener Institute. He completed his Ambulance and Emergency Care Certificate through Niagara College and has completed many paramedic education including the level 2 National Association of EMS Educators which has given him a strong knowledge in adult education.

Tony Jaroszewicz joined SWORBHP in September 2019 as a part time Prehospital Care Specialist (PHSC). Tony holds diplomas in, Advanced Care Paramedicine from the Michener Institute (Toronto), and Advanced Emergency Medical Assistant from St. Clair College (Windsor). Tony is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Paramedicine (Honours) Degree from Charles Sturt University (Australia). Tony works as a full time Advanced Care Paramedic with Essex Windsor EMS.
