Susan KrieningExecutive Director Sue joined SWORBHP in October of 2013 as the Regional Program Manager. Her educational background includes a BScN from Queen's University and a Master's of Health Studies in Leadership from Athabasca University. She is a Greenbelt in Six Sigma, has certification in Lean and maintains her Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification. Sue’s leadership experience at London Health Sciences Centre includes manager roles in the Medicine Program at Victoria Hospital and the Adult and Children's Emergency Departments at Victoria Hospital as well as the University Hospital ED. She also held the position of Interim Director for Pandemic Incident Management during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this she held a position as a Clinical Educator at LHSC and Bed Utilization Manager and ED Coordinator in Winnipeg. Her clinical experience is in emergency and critical care nursing. In 2011 Sue traveled to Tel Aviv, Israel with SWORBHP staff to study their CBRNE and Code Orange programs which helped in her leadership of the LHSC Emergency Program’s CBRNE and Code Orange Planning from 2009-2022. Sue was the Operational Co-Chair of the Ontario Base Hospital Group Medical Advisory Committee from 2015-2018. |

Dr. Matthew DavisRegional Medical Director Dr. Matthew Davis joined SWORBHP in 2010 as the program's first EMS Medical Fellow. He held the position of Medical Director of Education and Medical Director of Lambton College and Fanshawe College Paramedic Programs from January 2013 – April 2017. Dr. Davis has also been the Local Medical Direction for the Central Services (Elgin, Oneida, Oxford, Middlesex-London). As of April 2017, Dr. Davis transitioned into the role of Regional Medical Director. Dr. Davis graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Nursing Science and a Master of Science in 2002. He graduated from medical school at McMaster University in 2007, and completed his FRCPC Emergency Medicine residency training at Western University in 2012. He is currently an Emergency Physician at London Health Sciences Centre and an Associate Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Western University. He is actively involved in multiple prehospital research projects and has presented his research at various international conferences. Dr. Davis has published research on topics including prehospital ECG utility, ACR utility for ED management of patients, morbidity and mortality associated with lift assists, and predictors of post-traumatic stress in paramedics. Tracey CifaldiTeam Project Associate Tracey joined SWORBHP in December of 2020 as the Program Administrative Assistant and has worked at LHSC for 30 years. Tracey holds an Human Resource Certificate from Fanshawe College and Secretarial Diploma from Southwestern Business College. Tracey comes to us from Occupational Health and Safety Services where she was an Occupational Rehab Assistant and prior to that the Team Assistant to the Manager of OHSS. Her previous experience also includes Administrative Assistant to the Managers of Medicine and the Emergency Program from 2005-2015 and prior to that communication/staffing clerk. |

Dr. Paul BradfordLocal Medical Director (Essex-Windsor, Chatham-Kent, Lambton, Huron, Perth) Dr. Bradford has worked in the provincial Base Hospital program for 19 years and joined SWORBHP in October 2008 as a Local Medical Director. He is an Emergency Physician, Trauma Team Leader and Critical Care Assistant. He is a Medical Director of Trauma at the Ouellette Site of Windsor Regional Hospital. Dr. Bradford attended medical school at Queen’s University, did his Family Medicine training in Sudbury, and his ER training at UWO; completing his Masters in Defence Studies from RMC in Military Trauma System design. He has experience in Base Hospital and Trauma program accreditation review teams and as a previous Medical Director and Chief of ER. He has taught ATLS, ACLS, PHTLS, ITLS, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, and currently teaches in Paramedic, Nursing, Medical School and Physician Assistant Programs. LCol (Ret) Bradford has a military background with over twenty six years of service, 2 tours of duty peacekeeping, and was the Commanding Officer of 23 Field Ambulance for 5 years. He has certification in Aeromedical Transport, and Aviation Medicine. He has served on the Federal Disaster Assistance Response team to Hurricane Mitch, and deployed to the Winnipeg flood, the Eastern Canada Ice Storm. He has training in CBRNE and disaster planning. He assists with the local Hazmat/CBRNE Provincial Response Team, Fire tiered response programs and local disaster preparedness. He is the Senior Area Medical Officer for Veterans Affairs for Southwestern Ontario. His research interests include trauma, prehospital care and primary responder PTSD. |

Dr. Sunil MehtaLocal Medical Director (Bruce, Grey), Co-medical Director for Quality Assurance Dr. Mehta recently joined SWORBHP in 2020 in the new role of Local Medical Advisor (North). Dr. Mehta completed his Bachelor of Science at University of Waterloo and then his medical training at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western in 2006. He subsequently completed his Family Medicine residency at Western University including the additional year of Emergency Medicine training. Dr. Mehta currently works as an Emergency Physician at Grey Bruce Health Services - Owen Sound and has served as Chief of that department since 2015. He has also served as an investigating coroner in the region since 2016. |

Dr. Sean DoranLocal Medical Director (Middlesex-London, Oneida Nation, Elgin, Oxford), Co-medical Director for Quality Assurance Dr. Doran recently joined SWORBHP in 2017 as the Local Medical Director for Oxford County, Medavie EMS Elgin Ontario and Oneida Nation of the Thames Paramedic Services. Dr. Doran is also the Medical Director to Fanshawe and Lambton Paramedic Programs. Dr. Doran completed a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Western Ontario. He received his Medical Doctorate Degree from Western University. In addition to this he obtained a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Psychology at Carleton University. Dr. Doran is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Western University and an Emergency Physician at London Health Sciences Centre. |

Dr. Lauren (Leggatt) ValdisMedical Director of Education Dr. Valdis joined SWORBHP as the Medical Director of Education in April 2018. She completed her EMS fellowship training from 2015-2016 with the SWORBHP team. During which she had a special interest in training and education initiatives. Dr. Valdis completed her Royal College Emergency Medicine residency at Western University, graduating in 2017. Prior to this, she completed her medical training at the Windsor campus of the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western and holds an undergraduate degree in Physiology and Health Sciences from Western University. Dr. Valdis is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Western University and an Emergency Physician at London Health Sciences Centre. She regularly participates in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching through the medical school. Although she is (again) working back in London, from summer of 2018 to spring 2020, Dr. Valdis practiced at Windsor Regional Hospital and was privileged to work alongside the outstanding professional prehospital colleagues in the South Region. |

Gabrielle WillemsManager, Southwest Centre for Prehospital Medicine, Education Gabrielle joined the Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital Program in July 2021 as a full-time Prehospital Care Specialist (PHCS). Gabrielle holds a BSc in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University, a BScN from the University of Toronto, and a MSc in Neuroscience from Wilfrid Laurier University. Prior to joining SWORBHP Gabrielle was working as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at London Health Sciences Centre, and continues to work clinically on a causal basis. Gabrielle is committed to ensuring that current practice is evidence-informed and that social determinants of health are considered in the delivery of care. She brings a wealth of expertise in training, education and research in both clinical and academic settings. |

Robert EllisManager, Southwest Centre for Prehospital Medicine, Quality & Business Systems Rob joined SWORBHP in April 2022, as the Coordinator of Quality and Business Systems. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Athabasca University. Rob has over 20 years of experience in the technology sector, and has been with London Health Sciences Centre for over 14 years. Prior to joining SWORBHP, Rob was the Solutions Architect within Decision Support. While in Decision Support, he was crucial to the planning, development and expansion of the corporate data warehouse, and team lead for the Business Intelligence team. During his time in Decision Support, Rob has advised and collaborated with colleagues across the province on business intelligence and data warehousing. Prior to joining Decision Support, Rob was a Software Developer on the Clinical Programming team in Information Technology Services at LHSC where he developed reports and applications used at hospitals throughout Southwestern Ontario. Rob is a strong proponent for data quality, data security, and leveraging technology and data to drive improvements in healthcare. |

Melanie RuthvenDepartment Administrative Assistant Melanie joined SWORBHP in February 2022 as the Department Administrative Assistant and has worked at LHSC for 5 years. Melanie holds a Medical Office Administration Diploma from Fanshawe College. She comes to us from the London Regional Cancer Program at Victoria Hospital where she was an Ambulatory Clerk working in registration, admissions for the oncology department, and patient intake. |

Julie OliveiraApplication Support Associate Julie joined the Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital Program in December 2014 as the part-time Program Secretary. In 2016, Julie worked as the interim Web and eLearning Design Developer and has now adopted the role of Application Support Associate for SWORBHP. In the past, Julie assisted in the launch and education of Patient Flow Management Solutions for London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC). Michelle PriebeApplication Support Associate Michelle first joined the Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital Program in December 2009 as the Certification Associate. From October 2013-July 2019, she was the Web and eLearning Design Developer and in August 2019, she transitioned into the new role of Application Support Associate. She is the System Administrator for both IQEMS and Paramedic Portal of Ontario. She has worked for London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) since 2008 in different departments such as Quality & Patient Safety, Talent Strategy & Development and Health Records. Prior to LHSC, she worked for Grey Bruce Health Services as the Departmental Secretary in the Health Records. |

Dwayne CottelPrehospital Care Specialist Dwayne joined SWORBHP in November 2008 as a full time Prehospital Care Specialist (PHCS). He holds Bachelor of Arts from Trinity Bible College and Theological Seminary, a diploma in Ambulance and Emergency Care from St. Clair College and Advanced Care Paramedicine from Fanshawe College. Dwayne is a Nationally Certified EMS Educator through the National EMS Educators Certification Board and holds a Nationally Certified Investigator and Inspector certificate through the Council on Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation. He has a Professional Certificate in Adult Education from The University of Western Ontario. He currently works part time as an Advanced Care Paramedic for Lambton County EMS. Melissa BurgessPrehospital Care Specialist Melissa joined SWORBHP in August 2017 as a Prehospital Care Specialist (PHCS). Prior to joining SWORBHP Melissa worked as a Clinical Educator for the Northwest Region Base Hospital Program (NWRBHP) since September 2009. During her time with the NWRBHP she led both the Primary Care & Advanced Care portfolios in regards to Education, Quality Assurance and Continuing Quality Improvement. Melissa was an active part of the Provincial Education Sub-Committee and was a Facilitator for the Primary Care Paramedic Program at Confederation College. She completed the Primary Care Paramedic Program at Confederation College in 2004 with her Paramedics Career routed in Northwestern Ontario. Melissa is a Nationally Certified EMS Educator with the National EMS Certification Board, and holds a Nationally Certified Investigations and Inspectors certificate through the Council of Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation. She is currently working on her Bachelors of Integrated Studies with a minor in Adult Educations from the University of New Brunswick. |
