After a 2 year search that included candidates from Oxford University, Mayo Clinic, University of Pittsburg, and the rest of Canada we are delighted to have signed our number one prospect.
Dr. Qiabi completed his Royal College Accredited Thoracic Surgery program with us in London, Ontario, Canada from July 2017 to June 2019. Prior to that, he completed a 5 years General Surgery residency program from the Université de Sherbrooke, and his medical education from the Université de Montréal. He distinguished himself by being hardworking, meticulous and caring for patients. As another member of the London “French Connection,” he maintains the high level of clinical skill blended with artisanal flair.
In the upcoming year, Dr. Qiabi will be completing his Master of Surgery here at Western as well as undergoing additional training in advanced upper gastro-intestinal endoscopy and Interventional Thoracic Surgery in Japan and France.
Dr. Qiabi’s academic interests include education and surgical simulation. He is our new Surgery Clerkship Specialty Coordinator for Thoracic Surgery in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and will assume the role of Program Director for Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Western University in the upcoming year.
