LHSC welcomes applications from university students all year round. When submitting an application, please be sure to include your availability. It is important that we have a copy of your academic schedule or know your summer schedule, since this information is required to find a placement.
Applications are reviewed in order of date received and interviews conducted based on your availability and our scheduling needs. Due to the number of applications received from university students, and the limited positions throughout the year, we may not be able to accommodate all students who apply.
Your application will be kept on file for six months so please contact Volunteer Services with any updates to your application such as reference, availability, and address change or to check the status of your application. Please also contact us with your updated schedule upon change of term if you have not already been contacted for an interview.
Steps for applying:
- Placements for 2019/2020 academic year (September-April): Completed applications and fall/winter availability are due by August 1. Applications received after August 1 will be automatically considered for the Spring/Summer term (May-August).
- Placements for Summer 2020 (May-August): Completed applications and summer availability are due by April 1.
2. Send the volunteer reference form to your two references who will submit their forms directly to Volunteer Services (references are not accepted directly from the applicant). Once the two references have been received, your application will be reviewed to determine where your skills, interests, talents and availability may be best suited. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Please Note: A Police Information Check is required as a condition of placement.
