What is Menopause?
Menopause is the gradual and permanent end of a woman’s menstrual cycle. Menopause most commonly occurs in women around the age of 50 years. The physical signs of menopause present differently in each woman. Menopause is a result of decreasing levels of estrogen production in your body.

What are the Signs of Menopause?

Menstrual Cycle: Bleeding becomes unregulated and then eventually stops.

Hot Flashes: Hot flashes may occur rapidly and unexpectedly. Hot flashes include: sweating, flushing, feelings of anxiousness, and chills. Hot flashes may disrupt your sleep and have an affect on your mood.

Changes in Mood: You may find that you are experiencing mood changes. These changes may be due to menopause or other challenges you are facing at the time. One of the most common mood changes experienced is depression.

Other Signs Include:

  • Difficulty with urination
  • Skin wrinkling
  • Vaginal changes: irritation & infection

It is important to note that this is a normal process for every woman. Many of the signs and symptoms are due to the changing estrogen levels in your body.
