Dr. John Jordan
Dr. John Jordan is a family physician and provides obstetrical care, in the Obstetrical Self Referral Program at London Health Sciences Centre, for women who do not have a family physician. He is an Associate Professor in the department of Family Medicine at the University of Western Ontario (UWO). He also has a broad reaching family practice based out of the Byron Family Medical Centre.
Dr. Jordan’s clinical interests include family practice obstetrics, geriatric care, orthopedic medicine and preventative care and he has a research interest in low risk obstetrical care provision.
Dr. Jordan obtained a Master of Clinical Science in Family Medicine from the University of Western Ontario in 1993. He received the Martin J. Bass Recognition Award in 1999 for exceptional contribution to Family Medicine at Western. He received Fellowship in the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2001. He was named Ontario’s Family Physician of the Year in 2002 and received the Reg L. Perkin award from the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2002 for being one of Canada’s Family Physicians of the Year. He received the LHSC department of Family Medicine Chief’s Recognition Award for Exemplary Service in 2003.
Dr. Laura Lyons
Dr. Laura Lyons is a family physician and assistant professor with the department of family medicine, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, U.W.O., located at St Joseph's Family Medical Centre. She also provides service at Victoria hospital and University Hospital. Her practice focus is in Obstetrics and Palliative Care. She works in the Women's Health Clinic, LHSC, providing obstetrical care to women, and specializes in addictions and methadone in pregnancy.
Dr. Miranda Sheppard
Dr. Sheppard completed her Bachelor degree in Honours Genetics and her Master's in Physiology at the University of Western Ontario. She went on to complete her Medical Doctorate at the University of Ottawa and returned to the University of Western Ontario to complete her residency training in Family Medicine. She has a part-time comprehensive family medicine practice in Wortley Village with a special interest in Women's Health, Obstetrics and Paediatrics. She also manages a small group of nursing home residents at Mount Hope. She has been involved with the Women's Health Care program at Victoria Hospital since August 2009.
