Leading the way. There is simply no other way to describe the dedication and perseverance of Team LHSC over this past year. Together, they once again demonstrated resilience, innovation and a steadfast commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve – both in London and across the region.
The past year was another one marked by challenge as we continued to see the impacts of the pandemic. Our Children’s Hospital was hit by a wave of respiratory illness that tested our resources. Colleagues at Victoria and University hospitals stepped up to support their Children’s Hospital colleagues while continuing to address other challenges from the pandemic, such as health human resources and surgical backlogs. Team LHSC came together to care for one another and our patients, innovating to expand capacity and meet increased patient care needs.
By leading the way hand-in-hand with one another and the community, our teams have achieved many remarkable strides. Their dedication to push boundaries and lead sets Team LHSC apart. In this past year alone, we have embraced cutting-edge ideas like the Nazem Kadri Surgical Centre, pioneered world firsts, partnered with community care support agencies to address community needs, achieved Accreditation with Exemplary Standing and advanced planning for the future of health care delivery.
