Retrofit Activities

London Health Sciences Centre has undertaken several energy projects to reduce the buildings consumption. To date, these projects are saving the hospital $1.8 million and have reduced our annual greenhouse gas emissions by 14 million kilograms.

In addition, through co-generation we have acquired the ability to generate 5 megawatts of our own electricity. This provides some security against future blackouts.

• We generate enough of our own electricity to power approximately 5,000 homes
