Clinician Profiles

Clinicians at LRCP work in multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating with doctors from the surgical, medical radiation and hematology departments to ensure optimal patient care.

Their primary responsibility is to provide direct care to people from all over the region. Patients are referred to clinicians who review diagnostic information and decide the best course of treatment. Patients see them regularly during the course of treatment.

Clinicians have admitting privileges at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), if patients require inpatient care and support.

In addition to patient care, clinicians devote 20-50% of their time to research and teaching. They participate in one or more cancer disease site teams working with evidence-based research. Teams focus on translational research: taking research findings out of the lab and into the clinic. Their goal is to improve treatment and prognoses for patients at LRCP and beyond.

LRCP resides within a teaching hospital. Many of our clinicians work closely with residents and fellows to mentor the next generation of cancer care professionals. They work in conjunction with the Department of Oncology at the University of Western Ontario.
