London Health Sciences Centre continues to implement a city-wide monitoring program for C difficile. Regular reporting to staff and leadership continues to drive improvement practices.
Direct care providers at LHSC receive ongoing education and feedback related to their Infection Control practices. Hand hygiene remains a focus of improvement for all healthcare providers in our organization.
Patients are continually monitored for signs of C. difficile illness by their healthcare provider and appropriate strategies for management are implemented including additional room cleaning. Patients affected with C. difficile receive educational materials about their illness in order to help with understanding.
LHSC also consistently reviews its infection prevention and control practices to ensure that they align with the recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Ontario.
