London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is one of Canada's largest acute care teaching hospitals, caring for the most medically complex and critically ill patients in the region.
At LHSC we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our patients and their families. As an acute care teaching hospital, we fulfill our mission of patient care, teaching and research across multiple sites in London, Ontario, Canada.
For more than 135 years, LHSC has cared for the people of London, southwestern Ontario, and beyond. Since 1875 we have trained generations of health care professionals and advanced medical science through significant breakthroughs.
LHSC attracts the best and the brightest. Our staff, physicians, and scientists are recognized internationally for the significant contributions they have made towards the advancement of medicine. We also teach thousands of health care professionals from across Canada and around the world. Through these activities, LHSC is improving the lives of people everywhere.
LHSC provides patients the broadest range of service of any hospital in Ontario. This, along with our mandate for discovery and academic excellence, offers health care professionals a remarkable network of peers.
LHSC was created in 1995 following a merger between University Hospital and Victoria Hospital whose history dates back more than 125 years.
