London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is a premier acute-care hospital and one of the largest teaching hospitals in Canada.

 

 

LHSC is a global leader in many areas including robotic surgery, cardiac care, clinical neurological sciences, multi-organ transplantation, critical care and trauma, orthopedics, sports medicine and research.

                                                                              

 

LHSC is committed to excellence in patient-centred care, teaching and research. The Hospital has an academic partnership with the University of Western Ontario, and is also the home of the Children's Hospital.

 

 

LHSC provides care for the 336,000 people of London, as well as Southwestern Ontario and beyond

 

 

LHSC is the largest employer in London with more than 10,000 staff and physicians, including more than 718 medical/dental/midwifery and 3,100 nursing. The dedicated and compassionate staff care for upwards of half-a-million patients a year.

 

 

LHSC was created in 1995 following a merger between University Hospital and Victoria Hospital whose history dates back more than 125 years.
