Background Essentials:

Each unit tries to hire RNs with a blend of levels of experience in terms of years and functional area. For those without renal experience we strongly suggest that the interested candidate job shadow for a day to learn about the patient population.

Professional Development:

  • Support the RNs to implement a Professional Practice Model
  • We financially support RNs in achieving Canadian Nephrology Certification, to attend conferences and if pursing an undergraduate degree in nursing

Student Consolidation:

We have had students successfully consolidate in one of our hemodialysis units and have also had nursing students assist the nurse case manager in the CKD clinic.
