Dietitians

The CCTC dietitians have expertise in the nutritional issues of critically ill patients. The role of the dietitian in the care of CCTC patients is to determine the nutrients needed to help in the patient's recovery.

The dietitian works with the physician and nurse to determine the best method of feeding. Choices include feeding tube or intravenous formulas. The dietitian monitors laboratory values and patient response to feeding. This information is used to determine the need to revise the feeding plans. The dietitian meets with the CCTC team daily to ensure consistency in the overall plan of care.
