Your Baby's Safety in the Hospital

Your baby's safety in the hospital is very important to us. Youand your baby are given an identification (I.D.) band while in the hospital. In some cases, an identification card is given to a family member/partner in order to have access to the baby. The I.D. bands will be checked if your baby leaves your room with a nurse.

All hospital staff have photo I.D. badges that they wear at all times. Make sure to check the photo and identification of all hospital staff. For the safety of your infant, a computerized security system has been added. Your baby will have a bracelet and computerized tag put on when you arrive on the Postpartum Care unit. You will see signs when you arrive that tell you where you are able to take your baby on the unit.
