PGY 1 & 2: "Core" Curriculum

Includes but is not limited to:

Cardiac Surgery
General Surgery
Vascular Surgery
Thoracic Surgery
ICU
Anaesthesia/Perfusion
Arrhythmia
Transesophageal echocardiography
Cardiac Surgery Recovery Unit

 

PGY 3: Academic Enrichment Year

Clinical or laboratory research or research in surgical education are emphasized and residents will have numerous opportunities to play an integral role in research projects throughout the duration of the program

 

PGY 4: Senior non-Cardiac Rotations

12 months of General, Vascular or Thoracic surgery

 

PGY 5 & 6: Senior Cardiac Surgery

6 months of pediatric cardiac surgery at the Montreal Children's Hospital/ McGill University under the supervision of Dr. Christo Tchervenkov

18 months of adult cardiac surgery
