My son, Doug, passed away at the age of 23 in a tragic accident. His memory will live on through his brothers, Brad and Craig, and all the many friends whose lives he touched. Doug was a student at Mohawk College hoping to become a police officer in the future. He worked with the mentally disabled for several years prior to his death. He discovered love, patience and honesty with his special friends. Douglas had a heart so big that no one was excluded. He saw goodness in everyone he met and shared this love with his many friends. His passion was basketball and he loved to get a game going.
Doug was our gift from God and it seems fitting that his heart and other organs should live on in someone else. I thank God for having a son so precious. I cherish his memories and carry him with me in my heart each and every day.
