Dougie was just in kindergarten when God needed another angel and called him home.
Dougie was the youngest child of the family with three older siblings. His sister and brothers doted on him and he was loved, adored and kindly spoiled by his parents, sister and brothers. Dougie rode ponies since he was one year of age, as his siblings would take him for rides. At the tender age of three he could ride alone on his pony named Brownie.
A few days before his sudden death, Brownie had given birth to a beautiful foul. Dougie was the only member of the family that Brownie would allow to be near and handle her baby.
He was a best friend to all his young classmates who kindly planted a rose tree in his memory. Each student placed a handful of soil around the tree. This very touching ceremony was appreciated by all of his family.
Although his unexpected death caused extreme sorrow and pain to his family, we feel so fortunate to have been able to donate organs for transplantation to help others at this very sad time in our lives.
