I was born in 1954 in Windsor, Ontario. My parents are Antoinette and Cyril B. Lacey (who is deceased).
I have been married to a wonderful husband, Roy, for 27 years, who was very supportive throughout my illness.
I have two siblings, a brother, Michael, who is a Fire Department captain, and a sister, Bernadine, who is an art teacher.
I have glomerulonephritis. I was on hemodialysis for 6½ months before receiving my first successful kidney transplant, which lasted for 10 years, during which time I developed drug-related diabetes. Thank you to the donor family for giving me my life back. I was able to visit friends and family in other cities. I was back on dialysis for 2½ years before my second successful transplant.
I would like to thank the donor families from the bottom of my heart for giving me back my life.
I enjoy cooking, crafts, walks and every day living, thanks to your wonderful gifts of life.
