The Gift of Life Recipient Quilt was also organized by the London Transplant Gift of Life Association.
The Multi-Organ Transplant Program at LHSC worked with the Association to invite transplant recipients to take part, while the Riverside United Church Quilters’ Club volunteered to create this beautiful quilt. The quilt highlights the success of transplantation at LHSC.
Each square of the quilt individually represents one organ and/or tissue recipient. Transplant recipients may submit a square in honor of their donor or as an influential reminder of the great need for organ and tissue donation. There's also an album that accompanies the quilt, and this includes a personal story and photo for each quilt patch.
To read these stories from the Recipient Quilt, you can click on each individual patch of the quilt.

Because of the success of this project, plans are underway for more Recipient Quilts. If you would like to participate in the quilt project, read these instructions:
If you received your transplant in Ontario, you can print these instructions for making a quilt patch. Once your patch is completed, make sure you complete the consent form and submit the fee form when sending your package to the London Transplant Gift of Life Association.
