Specimen Collection Guide – Paraffin

Paraffin sections are cut at 3-4um on positively charged slides, prepared and sent from a clinical pathology laboratory. Testing is ordered by the Pathologist in PTOE and the exact FISH probe and pertinent clinical information must be given. A representative H&E Histology section outlining areas of interest for examination must be included with 4 paraffin slides for each FISH probe requested. Check with FISH manufacturer to determine if the probe is suitable for paraffin slides.

Slides can be stored and shipped at room temperature (15-25oC).

Note: All slides should contain at least two patient identifiers.
