Timeline for
Milestone I Endorsed by SJHC/LHSC Leadership
We
are pleased to report that after extensive consultation with
clinical and administrative leaders, the Clinical Restructuring
Team has completed the development of the timeline for the
Milestone I clinical program moves. The team presented the
plan to a meeting of clinical and administrative leadership
this morning, where the plan was endorsed.
Milestone
I will commence on February 15, 2005 and will be completed
by the end of September 2005 in the following major phases:
February
15, 2005:
Transfer ER services from SJHC
Expand ER capability LHSC-UC and SSC
SJHC Urgent Care commences operation February 16, 2005
March
2005:
Open Cardiovascular Surgery Recovery Unit within ICU at LHSC-UC
April
5, 2005:
Transfer a component of Cardiac Surgery & Cardiology from
SSC to UC including:
Transfer of 31 inpatient beds and 5 Cardiac ICU beds
Transfer of 1 Catheterization Lab
Transfer of 2 Cardiovascular Surgery operative rooms
April
11, 2005:
Transfer 5 ICU beds from SJHC to LHSC-VC
April
25, 2005:
Transfer of 5 remaining ICU beds from SJHC to LHSC-UC
Transfer 27 General Surgery and 2 Urology beds from SJHC.
Open 22 beds at LHSC-UC
Transfer OR time associated with General Surgery & Urology
from SJHC to LHSC-UC
Open Step-up Unit at SJHC in PACU
At this
time, it's important to note that the May to September timeline
is subject to construction tender approval by the Ministry
of Health and Long-Term Care, and the finalization of contractor
construction schedules.
By
May 31, 2005:
Move 180 Critical Care, Surgery, Medicine, and Cardiac beds,
as well as ER & Perioperative Care from SSC to VC
Transfer 4 General Surgery and 8 (7 to open) Orthopaedic beds
from SJHC to LHSC-VC
Cardiology clinic transfer from SSC to UC
September
2005
Transfer 16 SJHC Medicine beds to LHSC-VC
Transfer 21 beds (15 to open initially) from SJHC Family Medicine
to LHSC-UC
Move SSC Surgical offices and clinics to Westminster Tower,
LHSC-VC
In the
coming weeks, we'll be communicating detailed sequencing information
to program transfer leadership, physicians and staff. We are
highly committed to the success of this massive and extremely
complex planning process as the restructuring of the London
