Your Baby's Room

Your Baby’s Room

Your baby may have the same bed space or room during their stay in the NICU, or they could be moved due to their health or to meet the needs of the NICU.

The NICU is divided into three pods. Pod A is our Level 2. This area is for stable babies preparing to transition to home. Families provide much of the care so they feel prepared and confident in taking their baby home. It is recommended that new parents spend one or two nights providing all care for their baby before discharge. We will provide you with a private room so you have a bed for sleeping.

Pod B and C- are for new admissions and babies requiring intensive care. The patient rooms are either double patient rooms or a central four patient room. As babies become more stable they are transferred to Pod A, or to a Level 2 Hospital closer to home.
