Trauma Career Bootcamp

Are you an enthusiastic high school student entering grade 11 or 12, with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in healthcare?

LHSC’s Trauma Program hosts a Trauma Career Bootcamp at Victoria Hospital. This week-long program provides students with an exciting opportunity to explore various careers in healthcare while understanding what it takes to be an effective member of this community.

Students will job shadow a variety of healthcare professionals to experience the responsibilities of each profession while engaging with staff to learn more about the pathways, qualifications, and other information for their respective careers. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to gain practical skills taught by experts in the field while learning about safety, injury prevention, and participating in team building exercises.

The Trauma Career Bootcamp will run from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, July 8 – 12, 2024. The program costs $150 per person which will cover the cost of activities and supplies for the week. Successful applicants will receive a registration package containing additional program information, forms, and safety modules that will need to be completed ahead of the first day of camp. Payment details will also be included in the registration package.

Infection prevention and control education will be provided to students before they begin. All safety precautions, including appropriate PPE and hand washing protocols, will be maintained.
