<London, Ontario> - Bonnie Adamson, CEO London Health SCiences Centre, and our CSTAR team were pleased to host London Mayor Joe Fontana yesterday at CSTAR as he unveiled the Mayor's Economic Prosperity Council report to media and more than 40 stakeholders.
The mayor noted that he specifically selected LHSC and CSTAR as the backdrop for the announcement due to the fact that CSTAR is a prime example of a successful innovative and knowledge-intense resource in the city of London. The mayor indicated that he would like to use enterprises such as CSTAR to draw more investment to our community which will lead to increased employment opportunities and greater prosperity for our community.
CSTAR combines education, technology and innovation and has attracted international attention from academics, industry and government. This was effectively demonstrated by Dr. Denstedt, John Parker and the CSTAR team as they played host to our guests and media.
We are honoured to have been chosen as an example of success in London and as a model illustrating what the city is capable of accomplishing. We look forward to continuing to work with the Mayor and his council to advance the mayor's goals to build a more prosperous community and build investment in the health and research sectors in London.
