CSTAR excels at closing the gap between medical device innovation and clinical implementation through research, validation and simulation training. In doing so, health care teams and patients have improved access to leading-edge, rigorously tested medical device technologies that are safely and competently applied to patient care.

CSTAR is a collaborative research and education program of LHSC (London Health Sciences Center), Lawson (Lawson Health Research Institute), Western (The University of Western Ontario) and St. Joseph’s (St. Joseph’s Health Care), all located in London, Ontario, Canada.
CSTAR occupies 3 floors (22,000 sq. ft.) within the Lindros Legacy Research Building of LHSC. CSTAR’s
facilities support all stages of medical device knowledge translation by enabling meaningful collaboration of researchers and clinicians.
CSTAR provides access to world-class acute and chronic laboratory facilities that support preclinical testing and validation of emergent medical device technologies.
CSTAR, accredited as an Education Institute of the American College of Surgeons, collaborates with Schulich (Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry) to develop and deliver team-based, simulation programming.
