Employment Opportunities at London Health Sciences Centre for Non-Canadians

Career opportunities are available at LHSC in positions which have been identified as a skill shortage occupation in Canada or when the recruitment of an international trained worker has significant benefits attached. In order for you to work at LHSC, the hospital must obtain approval to hire a Non-Canadian into this position and you must obtain valid Employment Authorization (EA).

Process for a Non-Canadian to work at LHSC

  1. Receive and accept an offer of employment at LHSC
  2. Provide evidence of the necessary professional accreditation to practice in Ontario to LHSC
  3. LHSC applies for a Labour Market Survey (LMO) with Service Canada if necessary
  4. Upon receipt of the LMO, employees will apply for Employment Authorization at the Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your country of origin
  5. Once a positive Labour Market Opinion has been received by LHSC, the employee will need to obtain a valid Work Permit and/or Visa. Information on this process can be found at Citizenship and Immigration Canada
  6. Obtain a Social Insurance Number through Service Canada. Information and applications are available at Service Canada.
