Our Program

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre is a 42 bed, Level III NICU serving Southwestern Ontario. As a part of the tertiary care perinatal program, care is provided for sick and at-risk newborns from throughout the Southwest as well as the northern areas around Lake Superior.

The population ranges from extremely preterm and small newborns (23-24 weeks gestation, ~500 grams) to term newborns sick or at-risk for other reasons. The NICU cares for 600+ newborns each year.
