The number marks our second highest birth rate on record
London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is excited to share that in 2023, we recorded our second-highest number of births in a single year, with 6,069 newborns welcomed. This count includes babies born between January 1st and December 31st.
Serving as one of the largest, single-site birth units in Canada, LHSC supports care and delivery for pregnant people who call London home as well as many patients from surrounding communities across the province.
2023 births by the numbers
- Total of 6,069 births from January 1-December 31, 2023
- October was the busiest month, with 560 babies
- LHSC welcomed 151 sets of twins, four sets of triplets and one set of quadruplets last year
