Technicians

Pharmacy Technicians at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) are health professionals who use their knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes to think critically, solve problems, make decisions, and generate professional judgments appropriate to the pharmacy technician role. Technicians work collaboratively with pharmacists to provide the very best in patient care.

Requirements for technicians at LHSC; graduate of a regulated Pharmacy Technician Course and, if you graduated before 2008, working towards the regulating requirements and completing the Bridging programs through an CCAPP accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program.

The Technician role is very progressive with many opportunities to expand and perfect skills. As a tertiary care centre, we provide technicians with a wide range of areas in which to practice:

  • complete IV additive program
  • computerized OE
  • unit dose dispensing
  • compounding
  • packaging
  • narcotic control and
  • decentralized roles

We have a comprehensive training program to prepare you for all the new challenges.

LHSC provides opportunities to participate in pharmacy committees and working groups. We encourage learning opportunities both inside and outside the hospital.
