Thoracic Surgery Fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive and Robotic Techniques

The Division of Thoracic surgery at London Health Sciences Centre and Western University Canada is offering a 12-month program of exposure to all aspects of General Thoracic Surgery including Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS), endoscopy, robotic surgery, and research.

The trainee selected for this fellowship is expected to already have acquired the skills for the competent practice of General Thoracic Surgery.  This training does not lead to accreditation by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The goals of this fellowship are to enhance the trainee’s skills in VATS and robotic lung resection, minimally invasive esophagectomy, laparoscopic and robotic hiatal hernia repair, laparoscopic Heller myotomy, POEM, diagnostic and interventional endoscopy including EBUS, EUS, EMR, ESD, and stents.  The Fellow will also have the opportunity to conduct a related research project leading to a publication and/or presentation in a recognized Thoracic Surgery meeting.

Our previous fellows have successfully gone on to spearhead new programs and become leaders in Thoracic Surgery in Canada, Saudi Arabia, Romania, Japan, and Palestine. The interested Candidate should send a letter of intent, CV, and 3 reference letters to:
