Gizmo is a two-year-old golden retriever and a proud graduate of the Facility Support Dog Guides Program from the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. As a certified service animal, Gizmo plays a unique and important role in our care environment.
Thanks to the generous support of the Children’s Health Foundation, Gizmo is a valued member of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health outpatient team. He works alongside one of his trained handlers at all times, ensuring a safe and supportive experience for everyone he meets.
You’ll find Gizmo spending time in:
- Waiting rooms, offering comfort and companionship transitional support
- Therapeutic groups, helping to create a calming atmosphere
- Individual appointments, supporting patients in their care journey
