Paediatric Urgent Care
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Paediatric Urgent Care clinic provides timely assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children with a wide range of urgent health conditions and urgent needs.
This may be the right fit for you if:
- Your child’s illness or injury is not life threatening
- You cannot get a timely appointment with, or do not have a primary care provider (MD or NP)
- Your child has a valid OHIP card
To book an appointment, or if you are within 7 days of discharge from the ED and do not have a primary care provider, call 519-685-8500 extension 52415.
Please call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Department if you think your child’s health issue may be life threatening.
Paediatric Medical Day Unit (PMDU)
- Location: Children’s Hospital (800 Commissioners Rd East), B Tower, First Floor
- Hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Midwifery Led Postpartum Care Clinic
The Midwifery-Led Postpartum Care clinic is a program that was created to provide care to newborns for up to six weeks who do not currently have a family physician or nurse practitioner for well-baby care.
Midwives are primary care providers who are trained to provide care to low-risk pregnant, birthing and postpartum individuals and newborns. Even if you didn’t have a midwife for your pregnancy or delivery, you are eligible for midwifery care for your newborn until they are six weeks of age. For appointments, your baby will be seen at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and seen by a registered midwife.
Upon discharge from LHSC, your nurse will provide you with an appointment day and time for you to return to the hospital for your infants’ well-baby check up at the Midwifery Led Postpartum Care clinic. Your first appointment will be within 72 hours of leaving the hospital.
