We saw a great show of community spirit last Saturday for our bi-annual clean-up at Westminster Ponds. The spectacular turnout was our largest to date, with over 60 members from LHSC, SJHC, and the London Environmental Network, along with their families and furry companions. The group enjoyed the stunning fall foliage and contributed to beautifying the environmentally significant area.

Their collective efforts yielded a haul significant enough to fill the back of a pick-up truck. Among the intriguing finds of the day were a jumbo stuffed bear, broken folding chairs, a car tire, and even a used motor oil jug.

But the day wasn’t just about work; it had its share of relaxation and fun too. Participants were provided with a delicious lunch courtesy of Daniels Health. It was an excellent opportunity for mingling, sharing laughs, and basking in the summer-like weather. Check out some of the images below from the event!

The cleanup drive is an initiative by the LHSC Green Team, hosted semi-annually in the Spring and Fall. This great environmental endeavour also provides an opportunity for high school students seeking volunteer hours and for anyone looking to enjoy some quality outdoor time.

A big shoutout to everyone who made this event a success!
