Who should I ask for more information?

Detailed information about a patient’s health will only be released to immediate family members or next-of-kin in order to protect your family member’s privacy.

The best source of information is often the bedside nurse caring for your loved one. All members of the team who are caring for your family member are updated daily and can help you stay informed.

However, it is important that you choose a family spokesperson who can write down new information and pass it on to others concerned. This will help keep everyone ‘on the same page’ and allow staff to focus on caring for your loved one knowing your family has the information they need.
