Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Oncology Program

The Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) oncology program supports patients between the ages of 15 and 39 years old who have been diagnosed with cancer. It is a collaboration between the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre and Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre.

Services are provided by an AYA Clinical Nurse Specialist, who has specific expertise in supporting the unique needs of adolescents and young adults with cancer. Types of support include (but are not limited to) psychosocial care, fertility and sexual health counselling, as well as referrals to relevant community and hospital services.

Patients can self-refer or be referred to the program by a health care provider at any point during their active cancer treatment.
