What Happens After Your EMG Test?

After testing, the EMG physician will discuss the results with you and answer any questions you may have.

A report containing the results and interpretation of your EMG studies will be sent to the physician who referred you to the EMG lab. This report will usually arrive within 7-14 days.

Unless your referring doctor requested a neurological consultation (detailed clinical exam and history) in addition to the EMG tests, any further investigations or treatment will be the responsibility of your referring physician.
