Undergraduate Medical Education

The Department of Oncology within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at The University of Western Ontario participates actively in undergraduate medical education.

The Department of Oncology undergraduate program is shared at two cancer centres, one within the LRCP of the London Health Sciences Centre and the second within the Windsor Regional Cancer Program of the Metropolitan Campus of the Windsor Regional Hospital in Windsor, Ontario. We currently have 38 active staff members, who contribute directly to the undergraduate medical curriculum.

Undergraduate Medical Education is divided into pre-clerkship (Years 1 and 2), clerkship and elective teaching (Years 3 and 4). The majority of Oncology teaching occurs during years 3 and 4 in the clinical setting with students rotating among faculty members in the outpatient clinics and on the inpatient ward.
