The London MS Clinic is a comprehensive patient-centered clinic providing care to thousands of individuals across southwestern Ontario, living with multiple sclerosis. Our catchment area extends from London north to Sault Ste Marie, and as far west as Windsor. We see and treat individuals with multiple sclerosis and related white matter disorders, including neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and MOG-associated disease (MOGAD).
We work in close collaboration with our occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech language pathology and neuropsychology colleagues to provide comprehensive clinical care. We have a robust clinical trials program, and opportunities for patients to participate in clinical research.
We have the first-in-Canada NEMO clinic (serving individuals with NMOSD and MOGAD). We are also home to the Care of Advanced MS (CAMS) clinic, a consultative multidisciplinary clinic supported by Physiatry and Neurology. Referrals to the CAMS clinic are made internally, after a patient has been seen by one of our MS specialists.
Referral Criteria
Referrals to the London MS Clinic can be made by submitting a referral to one of our MS clinicians. Currently, Dr. Beyza Ciftci and Dr. Patricia Riccio both accept new referrals. Referrals will be reviewed and the referring physician will be notified if the referral has been accepted or declined, in writing, withing two weeks, per CPSO guidelines. If a referral has been declined, the referring physician will do their best to suggest an alternative care pathway.
To support timely and accurate triage, referrals should include sufficient clinical information, including relevant clinical symptomatology, investigations such as MRI reports, and any prior neurology consult notes. Sending incomplete referrals may result in delay or decline of a referral
Per a new LHSC initiative within the department of clinical neurological sciences, referrals to the London Multiple Sclerosis Clinic are now managed through a central intake and referral management process and then redirected to the specified physician. You will be notified once the referral has been triaged and accepted or declined.
