Information for Referring Physicians
CNS Central Intake
LHSC’s Clinical Neurological Sciences Program is updating its referral management processes, moving towards a Central Intake model. These changes are being designed to improve efficiency and align with future provincial referral strategies and upgrades to LHSC’s electronic patient record.
The Central Intake model is being implemented in phases, adding specialties in a scheduled and incremental way. This staged approach ensures adequate testing of change can occur, allowing CNS to make adjustments as required. We understand that any change can bring uncertainty but be assured that changes are being implemented thoughtfully, with the referring provider needs in mind. Our goal is to make the transitions as smooth as possible, while recognizing that reaching our long-term objectives will involve a series of incremental changes.
At this time, CNS Central Intake is only accepting referrals for Epilepsy and the First Seizure Clinic. All other referrals should be sent directly to the provider or service. If other referrals are sent to the Central Intake Fax number, they will be declined.
