Deane Mulcahy is a Nurse Practitioner at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre’s Systemic Therapy Assessment Clinic (STAC), a nurse practitioner-led program supporting patients undergoing systemic treatment for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. The clinic aims to improve access to timely care while reducing emergency department visits.
Deane joined LHSC in 2012 as a registered nurse on the C5 surgical inpatient unit at Victoria Hospital. Over seven years, she gained broad experience in peri-surgical care—including ENT, urology, thoracics, and plastics/burns—before transitioning to the emergency department. These roles strengthened her clinical judgment, adaptability, and ability to manage complex and evolving patient needs in fast-paced environments.
In 2019, Deane completed her Master of Nursing and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate at Western University. She has since provided comprehensive care across the lifespan in primary care settings, deepening her skills in patient-centered communication, chronic disease management, and preventative health.
Now in her role with the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre, Deane brings a well-rounded clinical background, a holistic approach to care, and a strong commitment to supporting patients through the challenges of cancer treatment. She is passionate about ensuring patients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their care journey.
