Kim Shantz is a Nurse Practitioner at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre in the systemic therapy assessment clinic (STAC). This is a nurse practitioner-led program that is designed to provide personalized care and support for individuals undergoing cancer treatment for solid tumor or hematological malignancies, with the goal of reducing emergency room visits while allowing for timely access to care.

During her tenure, she developed a deep understanding of patient-centred care and complex critical care patient management. Transitioning to the nurse practitioner role, she spent 5 years working alongside the general surgery and acute care emergency surgery (ACCESS) team before joining the team at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre.
Kim completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006 from the University of Toronto and returned to the University of Western Ontario in 2018 for her Masters in Nursing and certificate in the Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner program.
