For six weeks following surgery, you will not be allowed to drive a car. As a result, it is very important for you to have transportation arranged to take you to and from the hospital for your surgery and also to appointments with your surgeon, family physician and physiotherapist.
Transportation from Hospital
If you are going to another hospital or a long-term care facility, transportation will be arranged for you.
If you are going to a retirement home or private residence, you are responsible for arranging and paying for your transportation home. Pick up is 11:00am.
Your options include:
Friends or Family Member
Please note some third party insurance companies may reimburse you either in part or in full for transportation costs. Check your insurance company for details.
At London Health Sciences Centre, we provide acute medical care to more than 650,000 patients each year.
By planning your ride home, as close to your discharge time as possible, you help us provide medical care to those patients who need it the most.
Discharges can occur at anytime, 7 days a week. We ask that you arrange your pick-up from the hospital by 11:00 am on the day of discharge.
